Construction of the Overseas Railroad began in 1904, and by 1912, Key West was connected to the rest of Florida. At this point, the city became a tourist destination as trainloads of northerners came to visit and many stayed. Over time, a strong community of artist developed and helped shape the cultural nature of the island. Burgeez is proud to have our line of Originals crafted by local Key West artisans.
